Vj akira (Marco Ferreira) started his video-jamming career in 2000 as a part-time job, turning to full-time since 2003. With a CV in photography and video, he has always shown an accurate sense of aesthetics in visual environments. Having developed a very exquisite technique in image presentation, his work can be easily identified by the unique way of harmoniously manipulating videos and music, creating live video-clips for each musical theme. Acclaimed, from the beginning, as the future of vidjing in Portugal, he has worked with some of the notorious names of both national and international music scene. In 2005, Bacardi promoter Diogo Madeira, sees his work and immediately acknowledges his worth, inviting him for a collaboration with Bacardi at the "Bacardi Gallery" parties throughout the country, with DJ Pete Tha Zouk. In 2006, he takes part in "Love Video Festival". Following António Pires's workshop on video-jamming, he is invited by the former to participate in a video-jamming performance at FNAC in Oporto, getting positive feedback from the audience. In December 2006, he is invited to perform in "Númera" festival in recognition of his innovative work. In 2007, he initiates a partnership with international DJ Jamie Lewis (Purple Music), performing together in his monthly sessions in "Kaufleuten" club in Zurich, Switzerland. In 2007, he gets the third place in the "Be a VJ Heineken" contest. In 2008, he gets the first place in the same competition.

At present, he is working in the production and direction of the video-clip for the new Jamie Lewis hit, to be released soon.
At the moment, he is also engaged in a partnership with the multi-awarded performer Stress (www.bystress.com) in the production of several video contents for his perfomances.
